Transportation

TheBus is the cheapest option while staying in Honolulu, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. Renting a car is ideal if you plan on exploring the island since both Uber and Lyft are pretty expensive modes of transportation on the island. If you are planning on taking public transportation throughout the trip, you may want to consider taking an Uber to and from the airport (since you can't ride TheBus with luggage).

When to Visit

Obviously, Oahu is a tropical island so it's warm all year round but, there are definitely things to consider. Personally, my favorite times to visit are early spring or early fall. Not only is it cheaper, but it is less busy than in the summer or winter.
